Brazil: A prison without guards

In São João del-Rei and Frutal in the state of Minas Gerais, two prisons without weapons or guards return dignity to the inmates. The experience is an exception in the Brazilian prison system. In April 2023 and January 2024, I met the men and women serving their sentences there.
